Our target is 5000 NOs. If this is anything like the petition there will be some support for the road, but it will soon dribble out. They aren't working to mobilise anyone to take part.
We can overwhelm the pro road responses as long as we keep asking others to take part. Please see
the bottom of this email for ways to encourage others.
What effect will the election result have?
The MPs of Norfolk are now much more mixed in their support for the road. Instead of 9 for the road and 1 against, we have 6 either against or persuadable,
and just 4 pro roaders.
We shouldn't be in the position again where Norfolk MPs are getting together to pressurise Natural England to give a licence to destroy bat habitat.
MPs in
Norfolk could be asked to pressure Central Government to withdraw funding. We aren't sure where the new government stand on road building, but we know money is short - so the possibility is there. We will be asking you to help us contact your MP - look out for this in future emails.
Of course, nothing has changed in the County Council,
but the overall picture of MPs in Norfolk has changed in our favour. Norwich City Council could do more now too - see event below!
Please help us get out of our little bubble and out to the public in the next few weeks. See events to join and small actions to take below.
Thanks for stepping up, together we can stop this road!
