Why taking part in the consultation is important
- This supports the road scheme being 'called in' to the Secretary of State - so issues will be aired in court, rather than NCC marking their own
homework and waving the project through.
- NCC keep trying to claim this road is 'the will of the people' - we need to make clear it is not. We want results they cannot possibly spin in the press.
Numbers of responses is key to both!
However, responses do need to be 'high quality' too i.e. that objections are on valid planning grounds, not feelings or wider issues. The e-action will show you how to do that.
But if you would like to object on grounds beyond the ones set out in the e-action, we will have some further advice prepared soon on a small range of topics (we
can't cover everything that is wrong with this scheme, so we are just covering the big-hitter issues). This should be out next week. So hold -on til then so that you can ensure you are objecting on valid planning grounds.
If you can make your response more individual, then that's better, but the main thing is to respond!
Thanks for stepping up, together we can stop this road!
