Hi
It was cold, but still, over 300 of you turned out for the Great Big March against the NWL on Saturday!
The giant bats and their little cousins were flying, and the faceless bureaucrat with his Norwich Western Link black hole was fed with infinite money.
There was a friendly, but determined atmosphere and the speeches were heartfelt.
The March was picked up by
the press, with a very positive opinion piece out today -'Ditching the Western Link would mean more bats and less traffic'
- which had a great explanation of induced traffic.
We have picked up new supporters, and got the word out further, so we think it was a very worthwhile day.
What's next?
There will be meetings this week and next at Norfolk County Council about the NWL road. When they apply for planning permission, they will then have a public consultation. We will need you all to take part in this, but hold fire when it comes out, we will be giving you some help to respond to the consultation easily, but we will need a week or two to prepare. So look out for our next
newsletter.
Our next event will be handing in the
petition , probably on 20th February. It's at over 17,500 now, but do give it a last
share around!
