This week has seen some disturbing activity in the Wensum Valley, including on a Norfolk Wildlife Trust site. There is survey work going on very close to woodland with nesting birds and barbastelle bat maternity roosts.

 

This is worrying as the noise and activity will have an impact on wildlife. The woodland owners nearby had been assured that invasive survey work and drilling would be delayed until the Autumn, but NCC contractors have now ploughed ahead, breaking their word. The possibility of this being a wildlife crime has been raised and NCC and Natural England have been contacted.

 

Please share our posts on this on social media and contact your county councillor with your concerns. This is just the survey work and they are already showing scant regard for wildlife. There is no planning permission for the road, or central government funding in place, so this does not have to be done in the middle of the nesting season!

Norwich Extinction rebellion have organised an event for the longest day. You can turn up anytime from 3am to 10pm!

To walk on the footpaths in the area where the road would cross the river if it were built. A very peaceful, safe event, you can turn up anytime for however long you want. Just bring yourself, and if you want, a sign explaining why you are against the link road. Go to Ringland Village Hall to be directed.

 

 

After a short break after the highly successful river rights event we are back again! All help from small 5 minute jobs to organising whole events really appreciated. Come and meet our friendly team!
